Job Title: Ammonia Refrigeration Technician

Location: Orange County, CA

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We seek a skilled and safety-focused Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to support our Orange County, CA industrial operations. This role is critical to maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing NH3 (ammonia) refrigeration systems in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with industrial refrigeration systems and hold CIRO or RETA certification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on ammonia refrigeration systems.
  • Monitor system performance and conduct regular inspections to ensure optimal efficiency and safety.
  • Adhere strictly to PSM/RMP compliance and OSHA regulations, promoting a safety culture.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new refrigeration equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system performance, service logs, and safety inspections.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior refrigeration technicians as needed.
  • Respond to refrigeration emergencies and participate in the on-call rotation as required.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience working with NH3/ammonia refrigeration systems in industrial settings (food processing, cold storage, etc.).
  • CIRO (Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator) or RETA certification is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and manufacturer documentation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong communication and team collaboration abilities.
