Job Title: Chemical Engineer (Ultra-Pure Water Engineering Owner’s Representative)

Location: Boise, ID ( Hybrid position with ~10% travel to client site in Boise)

Duration: 12 months

Pay Range: $42.31–$57.69 per hour

Responsibilities:

Process Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) Lead/Owner's Representative

As the Facilities Ultra-Pure Water Engineering Owner’s Representative , you will collaborate closely with client owners in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Your primary role is to represent the client by reviewing designs, specifications, and drawings , providing detailed feedback and guidance.

Primary Duties:

• Work closely with client owners to establish design requirements and review construction documentation for high-purity water systems used in complex manufacturing facilities.
• Conduct design reviews and provide oversight for piping, equipment filtering, heating, cooling, exhaust systems, and associated process chemicals and gases.
• Assist in retrofitting existing building systems for new tool installations, including calculations, equipment sizing, selection, specifications, and construction support.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other A&E firms, Jacobs design staff, client equipment owners, and equipment manufacturers, to develop utility requirement documentation .
• Provide technical training, quality assurance for designs , and assist with complex design aspects.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 7+ years practical experience with ultrapure water facilities/equipment engineering, specifically including Clarification, Filtration, Polish, UV, Reverse Osmosis, Ion Exchange, storage, distribution, and delivery.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Ability to collaborate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams .
• Minimum of 5 years experience with design project delivery processes .
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and demonstrate leadership .
• 3+ years of experience working with complex semiconductor manufacturing tools (manufacturing, installation, or use in cleanrooms).
• Proficient in AutoCAD software .
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Forward-thinking with a commitment to learning best practices and contributing innovative ideas.
• Quick learner, eager to broaden technical expertise.
• Passion for building construction and engineering.
• At least 2 years of field experience .
• PE license not required.

Additional Requirements:

• Approximately 10% travel to client site in Boise, ID.
• Physically able to perform site visits involving long distances, extended periods of sitting and standing, bending, stooping, twisting, crawling, climbing ladders, working on catwalks, working in confined spaces, and lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs .
