Content Editor

5 month contract (with potential to extend)

Hybrid in North Atlanta (three days in office)

$28-31/hr

Our consumer health client is seeking contract Health Editor to support the creation of sponsored content aimed at educating and engaging consumer and patient audiences. Editors will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment to deliver a range of content formats, from article collections to multimedia experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the development, quality, and timely delivery of sponsored health content.
• Ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to editorial guidelines.
• Manage freelance writers and review their submissions.
• Coordinate with project managers, editorial, medical review, and design teams.
• Use content management and project tracking tools to manage workflows.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience creating digital health or medical content for consumers.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong editing skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to translate complex medical topics into plain language.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices for health content.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a virtual team.
• Experience with CMS platforms, project management tools, and standard office software.
