Duties Special agents carry out investigations and protection assignments, potentially at multiple duty stations across the U.S. and abroad. Responsibilities include: Providing protection for various protectees. Conducting criminal investigations related to financial obligations of the United States. Planning and implementing security designs for National Special Security Events. We seek talented individuals with the background to succeed as a special agent in the U.S. Secret Service. Requirements U.S. citizenship Valid driver's license Ability to carry and use a firearm; firearm proficiency is mandatory. At least 21 years old at application, under 37 at conditional job offer (with exceptions for prior federal law enforcement service or veteran's preference). Top Secret Clearance Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular, corrected to 20/20 or better. Hearing loss not exceeding 25 decibels in either ear in relevant ranges. Pre-employment drug test and ongoing random drug testing. Completion of 13 weeks of training at FLETC in Glynco, GA, and 18 weeks at James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD. Willingness to accept assignments anywhere in the U.S. and abroad. Registration with the Selective Service System or exemption if applicable.
