Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Responsible for performing and initiating all activities in support of environmental health and safety initiatives, ensuring effective and efficient compliance with local, state and federal regulations and agencies, managing facility safety processes to protect employees, the company, the environment, and provide a safe and healthy work place.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Maintain environmental compliance with all regulatory requirements from City, County, State and Federal agencies.
Management of OSHA, EPA, FDEP, ADA, Worker's Compensation
Comply with all OSHA-mandated training requirements by providing training and retaining proper documentation;
Conduct all safety, health and environmental audits and reviews;
Coordinate, conduct, and document all safety training and secure in the employee file.
Report and comply with all EPA and local governmental regulations;
Develop, implement and update environmental/safety and industrial hygiene programs;
Administer the Safety Committee and hold monthly meetings and audits
Assist team leads, supervisors and managers in completing incident investigations;
Analyze safety trends to identify risks and gaps
Participate in Lean Manufacturing, kaizen and 5S initiatives with safety focus
Manage non-hazardous, hazardous and universal waste streams created by Hudson Hudson will follow proper protocol in the collection, storage, inspection, labeling and shipping of wastes
Waste manifest will be used when disposing to a TSDF facility
Sampling will be done as necessary to create a profile for disposal
Manifest will be tracked until the facility to generator copy returned
Maintain and update the following plans with necessary personnel: Contingency Plan, Evacuation Plan, Fire Drills
Waste Management Plan
Complete and maintain all records for renewals on the following: Permits (St. Johns River Water Management District, City of Ormond)
Business Licenses (City, County)
Annual Inspections (Backflow, Fire: extinguishers, suppression & pump)
Reports (Form R, Right to Know)
Issue Purchase Orders to schedule/attend training for: Hazwopper annual
Confined Space/ Respirator annual
RCRA annual
DOT every 3 years
Hearing Test (holding employees account to get their annual testing)
Vision Test (Quality Departments only, yearly)
Forklift certification
Safety Data Sheets: Obtain Safety Data Sheets for existing and new products
Maintain Aspects list of SDS's in books at employee entrance and purchasing
Request for new products require Aspect approval form and SDS to be submitted to the committee for approval
Educational Requirements
Experience Requirements
Associate or BS Degree in Industrial Safety or Hygiene or equivalent in work history
OSHA Certified/First Responder/First Aid
Technical Experience: Incident tracking systems, Excel, Word
Industry Experience: 2-5 years experience in environmental, health
and safety in a manufacturing environment JSJ
