A law firm seeks a seasoned Estate and Tax Planning Attorney with 13 years of experience to join its White Plains practice. The successful candidate will design and implement sophisticated estate plans, advise high-net-worth clients on tax-efficient strategies, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver comprehensive wealth-preservation solutions.

Location:

• White Plains, New York

Duties:

• Advise clients on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning
• Draft and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related instruments
• Structure and implement tax-efficient strategies for family offices and closely held businesses
• Coordinate with accountants, financial advisors, and fiduciaries on plan administration
• Conduct tax research and prepare written analyses on federal and state tax issues
• Represent clients in IRS audits, estate tax proceedings, and state tax controversies
• Mentor junior associates and contribute to business development efforts

Requirements:

• 13 years of post-Juris Doctor experience in estate and tax planning
• Admission to the New York Bar (active status)
• Proven track record with complex trust and estate administrations
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines simultaneously

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active New York Bar admission

Skills:

• Advanced tax research (CCH, RIA, Bloomberg Tax) and legal writing
• Proficiency drafting complex trust instruments and tax-planning memoranda
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent interpersonal and client communication skills
• Familiarity with estate-planning software (e.g., WealthDocx, Drafting Docs)
