Overview

ETL Developer role at Stampin' Up! in Riverton, UT. The position involves working with business analysts to gather requirements for development, testing, and project coordination; documenting ETL mapping specifications; preparing source analysis and ETL design documentation prior to development; and extracting, transforming, and loading data from multiple sources into the data warehouse using ETL tools.

Responsibilities

• Extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into the data warehouse using ETL tools including SAP Data Services and Informatica.
• Document ETL mapping specifications and prepare documentation for source analysis and ETL design prior to development.
• Move data from source systems to different schemas based on dimensions and fact tables using slowly changing dimensions type 1 and type 2.
• Improve performance of ETL processes by benchmarking approaches and implementing changes such as redesigning mappings, introducing intermediate/staging tables, and using database partitioning.
• Create test cases, perform unit testing for ETL code, and log/resolve defects during deployment; participate in defect analysis calls for UAT to understand data and suggest modifications.
• Prepare complex SQL queries to validate data in source and target databases; tune mapping performance following best practices to reduce ETL run time.
• Create and enhance data solutions enabling seamless delivery of data; collect, parse, manage, and analyze large data sets for reporting; lead the design of the logical data model and implement the physical database structure, including operational data stores and data marts.
• Identify and fix production issues quickly; work with data validation tools to create test rules and validate data loaded in the data warehouse; create monitors, validation rules, and dashboards to identify issues.
• Collaborate with end users to understand data requirements and ensure data quality and availability for reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) or related field of study, and 4 years of software development experience.
• Specific skills/requirements: SQL, data warehousing including dimensional modeling and support; ETL tools SAP Data Services (BODS)/Business Objects Data Integrator (BODI) and Informatica.
