Position offered by Munden Funeral Home & Crematory for general maintenance, cemetery grounds work, and grave preparation. The job includes grounds upkeep, detailing the fleet daily, preparing graves, covering graves, vault placement, setting headstones, mowing, landscaping, grounds care for three perpetual care cemeteries, and setting up graves with tents, grass, chairs, and lowering devices.

The ideal candidate will be an independent hard worker who can problem solve, work within timelines, work outdoors 90% of the workday, and begin each workday at 8 am working until that day’s tasks are completed. The ideal candidate will recognize this position is to assist families experiencing the loss of a loved one.

Qualifications:

• Ability to operate tools and equipment, including, but not limited to a rake, sledgehammer, lawn mower, weed trimmer, shovel, leaf blower, chain saw, and water pump.
• Ability to prepare and cover graves with a tractor, shovel, or by whatever means are necessary.
• Acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and adapt to different work conditions
• Must be able to work scheduled weekends
• Perform opening & closing of graves for burials, entombments, and inurnments
• Ability to climb, sit, stand, kneel, reach, push, pull, and frequently lift 50 pounds, and may be required to lift more
• Most duties will be performed outside and may require working in inclement weather and in extreme temperatures
• Regularly scheduled weekend work

Salary/Benefits

• $14.00 - $18.00 per hour - pay is negotiable with an excellent work ethic, experience, and ability to operate provided equipment
