Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a Lab Packaging Engineer to join a dynamic team in San Jose, CA. This role involves conducting and supporting package testing and validation. The position is 100% onsite and is suitable for candidates who thrive in hands-on, active roles with physical demands to support client testing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client-requested package testing, adhering to ISTA and ASTM standards, customer requirements, and WESTPAK Quality Management System.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity through precise testing and data management.
• Maintain order accuracy and quality via document control, standard operating procedures, and auditing.
• Provide high-level customer service for onsite testing support, acting as the Westpak "host" for package testing needs.
• Maintain WESTPAK's 5S and various site standards and expectations.
• Communicate responsively with customers about testing services, including test status updates, results explanation, and consultation for improvements.
• Support internal customer departments like Engineering Services with technical expertise.
• Perform duties related to logistics, administration, and facilities to support site lab operations.
• Develop and implement HR best practices to enhance the overall customer service process.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Engineering, Packaging, or equivalent technical education degree.
• 2-5 years of working laboratory experience in conducting product/packaging testing preferred.
• Experience in packaging or product testing, or related industry is ideal.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as protocols, industry specifications, and procedures.
• Understanding of packaging fundamentals.
• Strong work ethic and high level of professionalism.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite products and general computer literacy.
• Intermediate to advanced math skills in algebra, statistics, and geometry.

Required Work Hours

Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM (Swing Shift)

Additional Details

Compensation ranges from $30 to $34 per hour.
