The Job: We are seeking enthusiastic instructors who specialize in tutoring math and language arts to all students. Proficiency with at least some of the following classes is desired: Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and/or Calculus. The ability to tutor SAT/ACT is a bonus, but not a requirement. Spanish language fluency is a big bonus, but not a requirement.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Coaching and guiding students to meet their academic goals
  • Tutoring multiple subjects effectively
  • Strengthening students study habits and identifying how each student learns best
  • Motivating students who need that extra oomph
  • Working with up to three students at a time
  • Being engaging, nimble, and professional
  • Keeping detailed records of tutoring sessions
  • Attending team meetings and other Tutoring Club events

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university (or currently enrolled in a degree program leading to a bachelors degree)
  • 1+ years of previous tutoring experience (previous teaching experience is not required, but is a plus)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work MOST of the following: Monday through Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm. Our peak hours are Monday through Thursday 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, so applicants should be available for those hours at minimum.
  • Ability to commit to one year with Tutoring Club
