Job description

This opportunity is in support of an active DoD missile contract as the Operational Flight Program (OFP) Software Lead. You will be a hands-on contributor to the design, development, integration, and verification of OFP software, including comprehensive code documentation, process refinement, and implementation (such as architecture planning, coding, validation, and deployment). You will actively participate in a variety of software validation environments, such as Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) simulations, on-site integration labs and flight tests at various CONUS airfields and government facilities. This role demands a combination of deep technical knowledge of embedded software, strong leadership abilities, and innovative problem-solving to deliver reliable, mission-critical solutions in a dynamic, high-stakes company. As part of the team, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary group, including DoD customers and stakeholders, the Chief Engineer and deputies, and cross-functional engineers from systems, hardware, and test disciplines. You will lead a software team that will expand alongside the contract, encompassing responsibilities for hiring, mentoring, and assigning tasks to future OFP software team members. This position requires on-site work at our office in Fairfax, Virginia.
