We are a small prototyping and design firm seeking a Product Design Engineer to join our team. This role blends CAD design, prototyping, and customer-facing communication . The ideal candidate is comfortable taking a project from concept through prototyping and into production, while also helping new customers understand our capabilities and how we can best support their needs.

Responsibilities:

• Create and develop customer designs in CAD (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Build and prototype parts in-house, making modifications for manufacturability.
• Research and coordinate with manufacturers for production.
• Communicate directly with prospective customers: vet inquiries, clarify needs, and recommend solutions within company capabilities.
• Plan and organize projects, track progress, and escalate challenges when needed.
• Contribute to a small, collaborative team environment where flexibility and problem-solving are key.

Qualifications:

• Experience with CAD (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving ability and resourcefulness.
• Good organizational and planning skills.
• Ability to self-manage tasks and ask for support when necessary.
• Strong communication skills (both technical and customer-facing).
• Experience in prototyping, fabrication, or manufacturing processes is a plus.
• Prior customer-facing or project coordination experience is a plus.

Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering or Industrial Design

Experience: 0-4 years
