JOB SUMMARY

Manage the day to day activities for the Purchasing Organization for Samsung SDI America Battery Systems which includes Commodity Purchasing, Program Purchasing, Pre-Production Prototype Purchasing, and Non-Production Purchasing functions.Manage KPI reporting and achievement for Purchasing team.

ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Enforce and continuously develop Purchasing processes and procedures.
• Complete pricing for new product acquisition process
• Manage costs to ensure reductions during development and serial production
• Coordinate Purchasing teams from Samsung SDI around the world to establish best supply base, leverage spend, reduce costs and share information.
• Develop Commodity supply base and ensure new suppliers meet onboarding requirements
• Negotiate and approve Terms and Conditions between Samsung SDI and Suppliers
• Attend and prepare Buyers and Cross Functional Teams for Internal and Global Sourcing Review Board
• Approve Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders
• Manage Supplier Scorecards including Purchasing portion of the rating and scorecard distribution
• Complete Performance reviews and evaluation of Purchasing team
• Understand and cascade customer requirements to supply base

REQUIREMENTS

• 7 years of experience in multiple disciplines of Purchasing
• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or Related field, Master’s Degree desired
• Bi-lingual in Korean and English languages
• Excellent verbal, written communication, organizational, and analytical skills
• Ability to multitask while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and organization
• Exceptional Interpersonal and Leadership skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent work ethic and drive to ensure success regardless of obstacles

QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS

• Comply with requirements of the Quality Operating System (QOS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2008
• Identify concerns and initiate corrective actions (through verification) relating to product, process and quality systems
• Initiate preventative and continuous improvement actions relating to product, process and quality systems

HEALTH & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• Follow safe work procedures established by the Company; and follow the OH&S directions of the head of your department or supervisor
• Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety systems
• Where PPE is required to control exposure to hazards in the workplace, wear and maintain the PPE as directed, as indicated in a risk assessment, or as required in OH&S procedures
• Use other safety and emergency equipment provided in the workplace as directed or as required in OH&S procedures
• Assist with the preparation of risk assessments
• Before commencing work or research, a risk assessment should be conducted to identify, assess and control the hazards associated with the work or research. This should be conducted in conjunction with other relevant staff, researchers and the supervisor
• Report OH&S problems
• Report workplace hazards to the supervisor as soon as possible after they occur
• Report injury or illness arising from workplace activities using the incident/injury reporting system as soon as possible after the incident
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
• Complete monthly H&S inspections
