Mechanical Technician – Renewable Gas Systems (Bremen, IN)

We are seeking a skilled hands-on technician to support operations at a renewable gas production site in Indiana. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of the facility’s mechanical and electrical systems that process renewable natural gas (RNG).

About the Role:

This position centers on the upkeep and performance of specialized mechanical infrastructure used in RNG conversion and delivery. The technician will oversee daily maintenance, respond to system issues, and help guide safe operating procedures.

Core Responsibilities:

• Maintain and service a variety of equipment including compressors, engines, pumps, tanks, flares, turbines, and electrical control systems.
• Troubleshoot system issues to minimize downtime and optimize plant operations.
• Conduct performance checks on combustion engines and rotary equipment.
• Interpret diagnostic reports and analyze lubricants and coolant data to prevent equipment failure.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors, inspecting work and ensuring standards are met.
• Keep mechanical drawings updated and validate system compatibility across operations.
• Maintain safety and environmental integrity by promptly identifying and addressing any risks.
• Document maintenance activity and support regulatory compliance filings.
• Serve as point of contact for technical support during off-hours emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1–5 years of relevant experience in biogas, industrial gases, or mechanical/electrical system maintenance.
• Familiarity with system controls (PLC/SCADA), safety protocols for high-pressure and flammable systems, and basic instrumentation.
• Experience working with mechanical schematics and blueprints.
• Exposure to performance monitoring tools and software like Maximo or similar CMMS platforms.

Required Skills & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and safety practices.
• Proficiency with basic software tools and maintenance applications.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to respond to emergencies and live within a practical distance from the site.

Physical and Work Environment:

• Must be physically capable of accessing elevated or confined areas.
• Will be exposed to variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, and inclement weather.
