JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Attendance/Office Clerk-All Levels Salary Schedule: PCSD Classified Department: School Job Code: 243000 Reports To: Principal Work Schedule: 185 days/7.5 hr. Grade/Level: C-1 FLSA: Non-Exempt Primary Function: Ability to perform clerical duties related to student attendance accounting and record-keeping to assure accurate average daily attendance (ADA) reporting. Ability to serve as liaison between students, parents, and staff regarding student attendance and discipline. General knowledge of district attendance policies, procedures, rules, and regulations Working Conditions: Physical Demands: School Office Environment Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard Constant interruptions Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person and on the telephone Seeing to read a variety of materials Sitting for extended periods of time Bending at the waist, kneeling, or crouching to file materials Qualifications: Minimum of high school diploma or GED Two (2) years general clerical experience involving record-keeping and frequent public contact The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements. Essential Functions: Verify excused and unexcused absences Prepare various attendance records Review attendance data, records, and reports for completeness Process and verify student absence and excuse information from parents for completeness Operate and maintain the automated attendance calling system daily Prepare, distribute, collect, and process forms and applications required for attendance accounting and record-keeping Generate related computerized lists and reports Operate a variety of office equipment including a computer, calculator, fax machine, copier, and typewriter Establish and maintain filing techniques Serve as liaison between students, parents and staff regarding student attendance, discipline, district attendance policies, procedures, rules, and regulations Maintain records and prepare reports Learn methods, procedures, policies, and terminology used in accounting for student attendance Interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures Meet schedules and timelines Participate in training programs to improve individual skills and proficiency related to the assignment Follow federal and state laws, as well as school board polices Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee Applicants will be selected for interview.
