Job Description

The Membership team supports our core Membership and related products. As a Software Developer, you will support and enhance a set of existing systems built around a core using COBOL / CICS / DB2. We use MuleSoft and ODM, along with .NET Client components and Angular as part of the full solution. We also support two small systems using SQL Server / SQL database. Our existing team each contribute a unique set of skills that help us cover the breadth of the tools we use, and we are always actively looking to give team members the opportunity to expand their skillsets. Note: The Membership team is on a hybrid WFH schedule, working from home two days per week and working from our office in a hoteling space the other three days. What You’ll Do: You’ll deliver application functionality with quality, meeting the expectations of our product end-users for implementing new programs, making enhancements, and resolving issues. You’ll help to push for continually improving technical practices including helping other staff learn and grow. You’ll learn new technologies to expand your ability to support our full suite of systems. This is often facilitated by paired programming and/or mobbing in addition to formal training. You’ll work with team members to review, analyze, and resolve application issues as needed including the support of day-to-day operations. You’ll collaborate, refine, decompose, and pull in work as a team to deliver within each determined sprint in a DevOps/Agile environment. What You’ll Need: To thrive in this role, you have 5+ years of experience in application design, development, and deployment of code in a complex technical environment, including familiarity with DevOps concepts. You have experience supporting production systems, including experience with on-call support. You have significant development and support experience with some combination of: COBOL/CICS/JCL, SQL, VB.net, Angular, node.js, MuleSoft / API development. You have previous experience with an Agile team or understand these concepts. You expect to participate in daily standup meetings, you’ll complete your projects or stories during our sprints, and you’re ready to meet frequent deployment deadlines. You have a learning mindset and a willingness to take on new challenges and technologies and share your expertise with others.
