Your Mission:

As a Software Engineer III, you will support the development and sustainment of infrastructure software and services for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems in a Linux environment. You will design, build, test, and maintain software components that support our mission operations. Your role involves working with containerized applications, automating deployments, and integrating continuous delivery pipelines.

This position requires a current polygraph within the last 7 years.

• Experienced in designing and developing complex software systems
• Confident in debugging, testing, and documenting system components
• Skilled in containerization, automation, and CI/CD practices
• Comfortable working in Linux environments using the command line
• Knowledgeable in agile methodologies and collaborative toolsets
• Effective in translating system-level requirements into software solutions
• Capable of integrating and optimizing software within operational systems

• Developing and maintaining Linux-based software for HPC infrastructure
• Scripting in Bash and Python to automate system tasks
• Building and deploying containers with Docker, Podman, or containerd
• Automating deployments using Ansible and supporting CI/CD pipelines
• Debugging and troubleshooting issues in operational systems
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams using Git, JIRA, and Confluence
• Participating in Agile or Scaled Agile development sprints

• TS/SCI with Polygraph (within the last 7 years)
• Nine (9) years of software engineering experience OR Bachelor’s degree + seven (7) years of experience OR Master’s degree + five (5) years of experience
• Proficiency in Linux CLI, Python, and Bash scripting
• Experience with Rust or similar modern programming languages
• Familiarity with Docker, Podman, or containerd
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI or Jenkins
• Strong understanding of Git and version control workflows

• Familiarity with NetBox or other DCIM tools
• Experience with Splunk or other observability platforms
• Knowledge of Keycloak or similar IAM solutions
• Experience using HashiCorp Vault for secrets management
• Proficiency with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies
