Seeking an experienced Title Examiner to join our team between 2 offices in Wharton and Columbus, TX. In this role, you'll review real estate title documents to produce accurate, reliable reports and identify individuals or entities connected to delinquent property tax matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough reviews of title examination materials.
- Analyze and interpret legal documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare detailed run sheets indexing all recorded documents affecting property titles within specific time frames.
- Provide essential information regarding property ownership, liens, and legal descriptions tied to delinquent tax accounts.
- Search public records to determine the current status of property titles.
- Review documents such as deeds, mortgages, probate records, and trust agreements.
- Read and interpret real estate documents, legal proceedings, maps, and surveys.
- Communicate effectively with customers, lenders, underwriting staff, peers, and vendors.
- Apply title insurance guidelines to make insurability decisions.

Skills and Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of title examination experience (required).
- Strong knowledge of legal documents and court cases affecting property titles.
- 2-3 years of real property title experience. - Proficiency with Qualia and Canaan Title Solutions (familiar with ByteSmith as we transition to Canaan) systems
- Experience with Rural or big land Title Examinations
- Previous Experience in Wharton and Colorado counties
- Certification: CAEP & CTIP
- Previous experience as a realtor or in Oil and gas
