Expected Hiring Range: $23 - $28 JOB SUMMARY Under moderate supervision, welds parts per router/customer specification to quality standards. Working from blueprints, this position is responsible for welding various materials in all positions utilizing primarily flux core and GTAW methods. Other duties may include minor assembly/deburring/grinding of parts, utilizing a press to straighten material and moving parts via a sit down forklift.
This position is subject to ITAR requirements which require incumbents to be a U.S. Person (Citizen, lawful permanent resident, a protected individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324(a)(3)) QUALIFICATIONS - Weld and fabricate weldment assemblies to meet engineering and quality requirements.
- Perform welding operations in adherence to specification/standards (AWS D1.1, D1.2), Mill Standard (-248, -278), ASME (Section 9).
- Selects appropriate WPS for material combination(s) being welded. Identifies key components of WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) and sets up machine for the correct procedure.
- Cleans and blends welds for visual inspect.
- Inspects completed welds for acceptability (weld size, etc.). Signs off any inspection steps or asks for assistance/clarification if weld does not meet specification.
- Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter. May clean, deburr or degrease parts.
- Ensures all paperwork is complete and signed off
- May do minor fabrication duties such as deburring or sawing parts/materials.
- Communicates issues/concerns to Lead/Manager.
- Follow work orders and document completed work accurately
- Safely rig and move metal/aluminum parts of various sizes and weights.
- Operate overhead cranes to position and transport components.
- Understand load limits, rigging techniques, and safe lifting practices.
- Inspect finished welds to ensure compliance with quality and structural standards.
- Set up welding equipment, jigs, and fixtures as needed .

SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE - 3-5 year of experience in FCAW or GMAW welding
- 3 years’ experience in GTAW welding.
- Experience in welding operations in adherence to specification/standards (AWS D1.1, D1.2), Mill Standard (-248, -278), ASME (Section 9) is highly desired.
- Familiarity with mfg. paperwork such as weld instructions, routers, quality certifications, etc.
- Ability to read and understand welding symbols and blueprints.
- Ability to become internally certified based on customer requirements.
- At least 6 months’ experience operating a forklift or the ability to become forklift certified.
- Experience rigging and lifting metal/aluminum parts.
- Experience operating overhead cranes.
- Basic math skills and ability to use standard measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, squares, etc.).

- Ability to stand for extended periods of time up to the bulk of the shift.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to wear protective equipment/ clothing for extended periods of time (helmet, face shield, gloves etc.)
WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing their job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend approximately 5% (excluding breaks and meal periods) of time in an office environment and 95% of the time in the facility. When working in the facility it requires the use of personal protective equipment including (but not limited to) safety slip/ oil resistant shoes and safety glasses.
