Amazon’s planet-scale Retail platform hosts over 2 million sellers, creating the largest marketplace in human history and offering customers an unmatched selection of products. Each product may have multiple seller listings—or “offers”—that can vary by price, availability, shipping speed, seller quality, and location. The offer that provides the best value for the customer: combining price, fulfillment and service expectations that customers care about is featured on the product Detail Page aka the ‘Buy Box’.

The Featured Merchant Algorithm (FMA) team owns the algorithms and services that power this selection. Leveraging artificial intelligence, machine learning and big data, we rank and select the best offer for the customer. Our systems scale to handle an average of 4+ million requests per second across hundreds of millions of products and billions of offers. We drive 99+% of product sales on the Amazon Store.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join one of Amazon’s most impactful and high-visibility team. In this role, you will collaborate with business stakeholders, engineers, product managers, and scientists to deliver new features and drive business launches that enhance the customer shopping experience. You will provide technical direction and business insight to shape strategy. You’ll be responsible for managing multiple complex programs, ensuring alignment across technical and non-technical teams, and clearly communicating progress and outcomes to senior leadership.

Successful candidates will have experience working on multiple projects with different stakeholders, make data driven decisions, have strong communication skills to interact with executives, non-technical and technical individuals and have a high technical bar along with a passion for program management. This is an opportunity to work with a team that drives one of the most coveted real estate in the E-commerce, the Amazon ‘Buy Box’ on Amazon Product Detail Page, Amazon Search Page , multiple buying widgets etc. on the Amazon desktop, mobile and tablet environments.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
